Meet Margaret A. Kelley, MD FACOG

Dr. Kelley is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who received her undergraduate degree from Brown University, and her medical degree from the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. She completed her OB-GYN residency at UT Health San Antonio/University Hospital in 2002. She was a 1990 Summa Cum Laude graduate of Winston Churchill High School in the Northeast Independent School District in San Antonio. Since 2002, Dr. Margaret Kelley has practiced at Southeast OB/GYN Associates, P.A, a practice established by her father Dr. Harmon Kelley in 1978.

Dr. Kelley has served as president of the Texas Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and as chairman of Section V, District Xl of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In 2007, as a representative of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists she testified before the U.S. House Committee on Small Business’ Subcommittee on Regulations, Trade and Healthcare’s Hearing on “The Value of Health Information Technology to Solo and Small Medical Practices.”

Dr. Kelley has served on many community boards. Since 2020 Dr. Kelley has been honored to serve as Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff’s appointee to Bexar County Hospital District Board of Managers. She serves as Chair of the Women and Children’s Hospital Committee. She has previously served as a Trustee for the Center for Healthcare Services, Mental Health Authority for Bexar County. She has also served as a member of the Vestry of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

Dr. Kelley has received many honors. She was honored in 2011 as "40 under 40" Rising Star by the San Antonio Business Journal. In 2019, Dr. Kelley was the recipient of the Outstanding Former Resident Award from the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the UT Health San Antonio. In April 2021, Dr. Kelley was listed in Scene in San Antonio Monthly, as Outstanding Woman in Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology. In 2022, Dr. Kelley was inducted into the San Antonio Women’s Hall of Fame in the Category of Healthcare and in 2023 Dr. Kelley was inducted into the Winston Churchill High School Hall of Fame. She was awarded the Brenda Vickrey Johnson Outstanding Women Owned Small Business Owner by the Greater San Antonio Chamber in May 2024.

Personally, Dr. Kelley loves being an obstetrician and gynecologist and caring for her patients. However, in her free time, Dr. Kelley enjoys walking her collie dog and other forms of exercise. She is an avid sports fan and loves to read. She is also a member of the San Antonio (TX) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and Alpha Tau Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Incorporated. She participates in community service with theses organizations.
